Ali Ghafouri

Ali Ghafouri is an experienced entrepreneur with more than 17 years of experience in the retail and marketing sector. He was the youngest member in one of the largest retail chains in the world and developed some of the most comprehensive marketing programs and received numerous sales and marketing awards. He founded NetClearly in 2000 by integrating traditional media (print) and new media (Internet search) into a single channel to help companies maximize their reach to the consumer market. His unique idea led to the development of NetClearly magazine in 2004 and the Plutoz search engine in 2006. Ghafouri is continuing the expansion of the print magazine and search engine into markets across the nation and the world by delivering more refined, transparent, and credible content to the consumer. This will help facilitate and expedite more robust consumer-driven transactions online. As an experienced retailer and marketer, Ghafouri has a clear vision and understanding of both the consumer market and advertisers goals. Ghafouri has developed NetClearly and Plutoz into their fourth year of operation without outside debt or financing. He has a strong discipline in cost structure and the desire to maximize efficiency and delivering value to the consumer and advertisers. Ghafouri holds a B.S. in Business Management and an MBA in marketing from Golden Gate University.

Paul Stafford

Paul Stafford is a successful executive with over 20 years of senior management experience in the consumer media industries. He has over 10 years experience with the Bantam Doubleday Dell Publishing Group (A division of Bertelsmann, A.G.) where he served as VP, Sales Development. Additionally, Paul has served as COO for Great Wisdom Publishing, Inc. and Access Publisher's Network. Paul has also been involved in the newspaper and magazine industries in Business Development and Publisher capacities. Paul Stafford has been involved with Internet publishing start-ups including Adventure2K.com and was the founder of StoryLion.com which combine specialty content and print on demand technologies. An experienced, result oriented executive Paul has solid accomplishments in sales, marketing, distribution, project management, operations and acquisitions. He is an innovative problem solver and team leader with an established record of profit and revenue enhancement.

Matt Jones
Editor in Chief
As an Editorial Director for national consumer and trade magazines and Web sites in a 15-year career, Matt Jones has covered the Internet, home decor, health, money, pro sports, technology, business, arts, food, and travel. He has also produced custom books, journals, annual reports, newsletters, brochures, e-zines, and more. Jones has led editorial business development through content partnerships, licensing, and co-media, including the creation of SVB.com, a global banking portal. His stints include award-winning publication development for Better Homes and Gardens Magazine, Oakland Athletics Magazine, and Living Well Magazine as well as HomeCraft.com, DiamondFoods.com, and CWHHealth.org. Jones is an in-demand national seminar speaker on publishing trends and best practices, especially having addressed Silicon Valley Web conferences. He has produced content for cable-TV and radio programs, most recently for PBS affiliate stations carrying The Creative Life show. Jones is the author of business and career books, including a three-book series for Entrepreneur Magazine in 2006. Since 2005, he has led editorial development for the NetClealry Magazine and Web site as well as the Plutoz search engine. Jones has lived and worked across the country from New York to Des Moines to San Francisco.

Michael Bushey
Vice President, Technology
Bushey brings great search engine development expertise to Plutoz. Having served as a technology officer with top Internet companies for more than a decade, Bushey has designed several major highly scalable software and hardware search tools. He is especially adept at assembling sophisticated Web applications that simplify search functions for consumers' needs. Bushey's career accomplishments include: Robotic Engineer, General Motors/Fanuc; Entrepreneur, BVC, which offered the world's first RISC workstation for under $4,000; CTO, Fasterthanlight.com, one of the first e-commerce sites; Senior Web developer, Care2.com, the largest environmental web portal, with over 4 million users in 2000; and Technology Director, MailShell, rated best of breed by Consumer Reports for email and spam systems. He has leadership skills in development, in depth knowledge of software and hardware system designs, and is an expert in Unix systems administration. He was one of the early adopters of Linux. His programming skills are in Perl, PHP, ASP, C, JavaScript, AJAX, XML, Yaml, and BASH. Bushey earned his degrees in Microprocessor Control and Robotics & Automated Systems from Staples Technical College.

Tom Stolz
Director of Online Services
Tom brings vital technical skills to the Plutoz team, and is committed to providing outstanding technology in support of rich content for Plutoz users. With diverse expertise, Mr. Stolz has more than 16 years of technology experience, ranging from large-scale enterprise database management systems to professional custom software solutions. Since 1990 Stolz has held several key positions in enterprise data base application as a corporate system analyst. He began as an application developer in Canada, and in the mid 90s worked on a large-scale data base system development for Federal Express. He later joined MCI as system analyst for the corporate revenue system and then helped lead Qwest Communications as data base developer / analyst for a customer management system in the wireless division. Stolz has also been a consultant for the State of California in developing data base systems for main frame and client server systems and lately has served with Ciber as a developer for court management systems in data base application systems. Stolz earned his BS degree in Computer Science from the University of Kansas.

Arman Pahlavan
Legal Counsel
Arman Pahlavan is co-chair of SSD private equity and technology practice and is a resident of the Palo Alto office. He advises public and private technology companies and ventures funds on various aspects of their business transactions across industry sectors including software and communications, life sciences, and renewable energy. His areas of specialization include mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, intellectual property transactions, and private equity fund formation matters. Pahlavan has represented companies and venture funds in transactions valued at more than US $1 billion. He is a frequent contributor to venture capital and technology industry associations on various topics involving business transactions. Pahlavan is a member of the board of directors of The Enterprise Network of Silicon Valley, a founding member of the International BioMed Society (IBMS), and a member of the venture capital advisory board of the Canadian Consulate Trade Office--San Francisco/Silicon Valley. Mr. Pahlavan has been the counsel and a member of the NetClearly advisory team since 2003.
